"I walked to the end of the boat with very few expectations. I had done yoga on vacation before and not been very impressed, but the hours of driving had me feeling stiff and I was curious what the class would be like on a boat. Melanie greeted me with such warmth and respect, I felt like I had known her for years, even though we had never met. I found her classes to be challenging in all the right places, gentle when necessary and very informative! She has a wonderful way of teaching that makes you feel brave and safe at the same time. She carefully worked with individuals who needed extra attention, without losing the pace of the class. As a yoga teacher myself, I understand how difficult this can be, but Melanie makes it seem effortless. Her smile and laugh are infectious and I would gladly recommend her to any of my own students. She was a wonderful surprise and exactly what you want from your vacation yoga practice!"

"Words cannot describe how delighted I am that I attended the very first Spirit Journey Retreats event held at Sundance Resort. The weekend far exceeded any expectations I had for it. The mountain setting gave a magical feel to everything, but it was Julia, Melanie, Sherry and Sally who clearly gave depth to the experience. The yoga classes, taught by different instructors, were diverse which made me look forward to each one. The instructors were not only excellent at explaining and helping me do the positions correctly, but also gave great tidbits of information as to how positions would help improve areas of our life and alleviate certain ailments. I am so grateful for all that I learned from them. The camaraderie with the other participants was amazing as if we had all known each other for years. Daily meditation, hiking, a festival, ski lift rides and even a fun craft project rounded out the list of events. I left feeling prettier, happier, stronger, smarter, more spiritual and very grateful that I took the time to do this for me."
