About Melanie Camp
In 2003 Melanie became a Certified Yoga Instructor and completed Level II and Level III teacher training of the Barkan Method. She teaches at the Barkan Method Studio in Fort Lauderdale and she is a guest teacher at the Yoga Connection in Davie, Florida. She completed Yoga Kids International Phase I training in Italy in 2004 and taught yoga at Fisher Island Day School the following year. Melanie completed her Yoga for Seniors and Yoga Therapy certification at Duke University Integrative Medicine, Durham, North Carolina in 2006. This special certification enabled her to teach at Daniel Cantor Senior Center, Fort Lauderdale.
Melanie is writing a book of yoga tips featuring her original oil paintings. The book is an accumulation of affirmations and tips from her travels around the world. She taught yoga while traveling to SE Asia as part of the CARE International delegation following the Tsunami of 2004 and participated in the 2005 Caribbean 1500 sailboat rally teaching yoga while on board and at beaches in the British Virgin Islands. She has attended yoga retreats in Costa Rica, Brazil, Greece, British Columbia, Arizona, North Carolina and Montana.
Melanie taught yoga on a private island in Fiji as a guest instructor at Treasure Island Resort and she practiced and taught yoga to her crew while ascending Mt. Kilamanjaro. She has conducted retreats in Sundance, Utah, Peru, Costa Rica, Morocco and Yog Sadham Ashram.
Melanie was invited to be guest Yoga Instructor on Crystal Cruise's Mind, Body, Spirit themed cruises from Singapore to Dubai; London to New York; the Panama Canal; Mexican Riviera and South America. She is the Yoga component on Yoga & Sail Yacht Charters in the Virgin Islands. Melanie is the guest yoga instructor on select Star Clipper Cruises.
