Patmos, one of the smallest islands of the Dodecanese, is famous for the place that Apostle John was exiled-where he wrote the Book of Revelation. Occupied by the Romans, the Byzantines, the Venetians and then pirates...Pope Pius once offered his protection to the island. The Monastery of John Theologos was founded by St. Christodoulos and it still stands...I was there as part of my Mind, Body, Spirit stint on Star Clipper in June.
